Mission
JewishTraveler.net is committed to enhancing the travel experience by promoting the concept of “traveling Jewishly” -- traveling with Jewish consciousness. To this end, publisher/editor Buzzy Gordon lectures to Jewish audiences on the topic:
Traveling with kavanna: A Jewish Perspective on
Discovering the Wonders of the World
The Four Cornerstones of JewishTraveler.net:
Why is this travel site different from all other travel sites?
1. Other travel sites do not emphasize places of Jewish interest
alongside the usual attractions. JewishTraveler.net introduces readers
to the wonders of traveling Jewishly in the worlds of the secular and
the sacred.
2. Other Jewish travel sites focus mainly on the Jewish
aspects of being somewhere other than home. JewishTraveler.net strives
to edify with regard to both travel in general and travel with a Jewish
perspective.
3. Other travel sites report only from the perspective of travel
writers or travelers who write. JewishTraveler.net expands on this base
and welcomes the input of local Jews and their friends, as well of
Jewish and non-Jewish educators and personalities from around the
world.
4. Other travel sites, even when providing a historical
perspective, concentrate on places to visit in the here and now.
JewishTraveler.net brings history into the here-and-now to make it
relevant to what the traveler sees – and what no longer remains to be
seen.
